We were closing in on our 2 Year Anniversary
As we approach the end of the summer, I’ve finally decided to pick up the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.4 MC II, as Amy and I decided to take one last summer vacation (or ‘baecation’) as a way to take advantage of the long Labor Day weekend. Strangely enough, these short weekend vacations are considered a thing where they have an actual name called “Micro-cations” and apparently it’s the newest Millenial travel trend.
It’s considered a good strategy for people that don’t have a lot of PTO to spare (like myself currently) to go to different places in short amounts of time, therefore maximizing our weekends.
So why Chicago?
Chicago was always on my radar to visit, albeit low on the list compared to places like Asheville, NC. Unlike the small town of Asheville, travel costs to Chicago was significantly less and therefore it was a good excuse to spend the weekend there.
Chicago has a rich history of the roaring ‘20s with the beautiful art-deco architecture, a food scene known for their deep dish pizzas and neighborhoods that offer their own unique feel.
