Library of Congress – DC Instameet 2/11/2017

Ben and I signed up for this brunch meetup at the Library of Congress with some local people from DC.

Since we had 30 mins to burn before the brunch, it was a good time to take some pics around the block.

The meetup was hosted by Linda Wong, a DC photographer, via Meetup – a website where people with similar interests can get together and socialize.

The morning brunch was held at Tortilla Coast, a local tex-mex restaurant a few blocks from the Capitol Building. I didn’t get pictures of place or the food, but the food was pretty good. I would say on the same level as Anita’s.

The group introduced themselves as we broke the ice and everyone seem to have a strong interest in photography and how Instagram can play a role. I don’t want to get into the details but we agreed that it is important to make compelling pictures to attract visitors.

After brunch, it was time for us to walk to our main attraction: the Library of Congress.

The meetup was a good learning experience and made me realize that I missed having a 70-200 for the Sony and my little Olympus E-M10 II for some of the street photography.

I think I just need to bring both going forward.
